Mipa Carbon System for Formula Student Racing Car

  • Mipa News

MIPA SE has once again supported the LA eRacing e.V. team of Landshut University of Applied Sciences with coatings for their newly built racing car.

The visual highlight of the new vehicle, named "Ginny," is the visible carbon fiber surface treated initially with Mipa P 27 Crystal PE-transparent filler. Subsequently, the surface was leveled using the transparent PE spray filler Mipa P 67 S, known for its high filling capacity, making it ideal for swiftly and effectively smoothing pores and imperfections. Lastly, the carbon components were treated with Mipa 2K-HS-Carbonic clearcoat. The exceptionally high UV protection of this clearcoat effectively shields the surface from weather-induced yellowing.

In the "Formula Student" competition, students collaborate to build a fully operational, purely electric-powered race car, competing against teams from around the world. In recent months, the LA eRacing team participated in events such as Formula Student Germany at Hockenheimring and Formula Student Alpe Adria in Croatia, achieving their self-set goals in all categories. As an official sponsor, MIPA SE is delighted with the team's success.
